GUSTAVE SANDOZ REGULATOR
The latest Urwerk UR -100 takes inspiration from Gustave Sandoz’s famous pendulum clock which was shown at the 1893 Chicago world fair. The regulator styled dial did not show time, instead the distance of the earths rotation from the equator was shown on it. The extra long pendulum took 2.16 to beat and every oscillation made one kilometer.
URWERK UR 100 SPACE TIME
The UR-100 SpaceTime features URWERK’s iconic orbital hour satellites, differing however in one significant way. Rather than the red-arrow-tipped minute pointers on the hour satellites disappearing after 60 minutes when replaced by the next, the UR-100 minute arrow passes beneath and between subsidiary dials, reappearing to display intriguing new astronomical indications: distance travelled on Earth and distance travelled by Earth.The first indicator at 10 o’clock evaluates the distance in kilometers that we have travelled on the Earth and directly opposite at 2 o’clock, the same hand shows the distance the Earth has travelled in its orbit around the sun.
Black DLC Coated Caseback
High precision was used in the construction of the self winding Caliber 12.01 to fit the tight tolerance between the minute hands and different dials total of three which pass thru the domed sapphire crystal.
