The latest Double Tourbillon 30° Technique is presented in impressively finished and detailed blue ceramic case and the inspiration of transparency and light are very well incorporated ,the innovative designs outer cage rotates in about four minutes, the balance and spring assembly in a smaller cage is inclined at 30° and completes a revolution in 60 seconds giving the hand wound movement much less positional gravity error as compared to other tourbillons. The four coaxial barrels coupled to a spehricial power reserve differential provide a chronometric power reserve of 120 hours.
The 48.40 mm case back, case band and bezel are crafted from a single hand polished block of ceramic. The sapphire crystal gives a spectacular transparent view and every element is highlighted in great detail. The small seconds and power reserve indicators are made of gold and finished in blue to stand in contrast against the frosted main plates. Greubel Forsey loves the transparency feel and the Double Tourbillon 30° Tehnique Ceramic has maintained it constantly. The sapphire made hour and minute ring, as well as the 4 minute tourbillon indicator at 6 clock shed great light into the details of the movement architecture.
Greubel Forsey team has aesthetically reworked the older version, the new updated timepiece has the tourbillon bridge, barrel bridge, differential bridge and power reserve bridge all made from sapphire, the open worked hands with SuperLuminova give a very non clutter and three dimensional view to the timepiece and to finally finish this unique geometry, the restrictions imposed by screws in the movement have also been handled well thanks to a shock mounting system which will absorb excessive shocks.
Greubel Forsey Double Tourbillon 30° Technique is limited to only 11 pieces for US customers and is priced at $695,000
