Oris was founded in 1904 in a small Swiss town of Hölstein and was named after a nearby brook. A total of 270 Calibres have been introduced since the company was established. In 2014 to celebrate their 110th year anniversary, the calibre 110 was introduced ,their first in house developed hand wound movement in 35 years. Calibre 110 was a unique movement which had the 10 days power reserve and circular non linear power reserve indicator. Oris Big Crown ProPilot X Calibre 115 was designed by the 10 member creative in house team who used the know how from their well received earlier complications (Calibre 110 to 114 ) Calibre 115 is a skeletonised hand wound movement and thanks to the mainspring coiled in the over sized barrel it gives an exceptional power reserve of 240 hours.

Oris also patented this unique non-linear power indicator at 3 o’clock, which is managed by a worm gear,it basically controls the power reserve indicator around the sub dial .The ultra light and durable 44mm case is made of Titanium, and for the first time an pilot watch from brand is presented without numerals on the dial.The Big Crown ProPilot knurled bezel motif is also inspired by jet engine turbine blades.The Big Crown Pro Pilot X has lot of aesthetics of a aviation watch,but its not a conventional pilot watch.
