Every single REC timepiece incorporates salvaged, recycled parts from iconic vehicles that are beyond repair.The latest being the REC RJM 04 Bluebird. The handcrafted and untreated aluminum dial is cut directly from the wings of the PT879 MK IX Spitfire aircraft. Every dial features the original marks and dents of its Spitfire aircraft donor. This also means that every dial is visibly unique.
RJM BLUEBIRD 04
The RJM BLUEBIRD features a blue sunburst dial and a blue woven strap as a tribute to the RAF pilots and their famous blue uniform. The story of how the azure color became synonymous with the uniforms of the British Royal Air Force pre-dates the RAF itself, as the blue uniforms were originally indented for the Russian army. However due to the Russian Revolution the RAF acquired these uniforms after having been founded in 1918.The REC RJM BLUEBIRD 04 pays the ultimate tribute to its Spitfire aircraft donor, as the specific fighter crashed on the Russian Tundra during WW2.
RJM BLUEBIRD CASEBACK
The rotor decoration on the RJM is inspired by the Spitfire metal rivet construction. RJM team also removed every rivet from the PT879 by hand for the restoration process.
REC BLUEBIRD 04 CROWN
The crown tip of the Bluebird takes inspiration from the nose cone of the Spitfire aircraft. REC RJM Bluebird 04 timepiece comes with a scan able Story Card – which is both NFC and QR compatible, taking the owner directly to a video documenting the stories, anecdotes and origin of the specific airplane which became part of the owners watch.
